A member asked:

Is it normal to have periods cramps, sometimes 1 week before than the actuall period date? how should i deal with it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually the cramps(dysmenorrhea) is caused by the clotts that trigger strong uterine muscle contractions evacuating the clotts. Advil is of real help because not only alleviates the pain but prevents the clotts from forming. In some cases 7-10 days to menstruation the uterine mucosa is hypertrophic and with engorging blood and pain.GYN should check for endometriosis, estrogen/progesterone level.
