A member asked:

Hi! i see intermittent yellowing of my skin (comes and goes) right by my left breast (61 y.o. male) i do not think it is jaundice--eyes are not yellow. i do not recall any purple bruising first or banging into anything. on plavix ideas please??

You are correct in observing that jaundice is not present. I believe the discoloration is from breakdown products of mild bleeding that takes place in the capillaries in your breast area. Trivial trauma to that area or spontaneous bleeding, especially when taking plavix, can cause capillary leaks of blood. You may not have noticed tiny purplish spot that preceded the yellowish areas.
