For most persons, long term symptoms of loss of smell and taste after Covid infection can last anywhere from 6 months to a year. There is no way to determine each individuals prognosis. A very small percentage of persons never regain their sense of smell/taste. Make sure you are eating healthfully, drinking lots of water and avoiding getting sick again as the problem can worse with repeated inf.

The course post COVID 19 is variable and a follow up appointment with your physician may be helpful. Try different flavors to determine if this is a specific or more general association with loss of taste. It may take weeks or months to resolve this problem. Consider a COVID 19 vaccination after discussing this with your PCP.
