Is the juxtahepatic ivc is patent a good or bad thing, please explain. i know it means the vena cava is open, but not sure if this is normal or not?

it is normal. If it is closed you get no blood returning to the heart from the bottom half of your body.

Juxtahepatic IVC has nothing to do with patency. It is just telling you the position of the IVC. It means next to or near the liver. It did not tell you about disease in the IVC. Always ask your doctor if you have question about report. Good luck
