Muscle twitching is caused by minor muscle contractions in the area. Causes include lack of nutrients in the diet, medication side effects, lack of sleep, too much caffeine/exercise/stress, medical conditions that cause metabolic disorders, including low potassium, kidney disease, and uremia. Calcium /Magnesium supplement may help. If symptoms continue see a DR.

Sounds consistent with orbital myokymia, which is benign and self-limited, and unless spreads over the face, does not require medical attention. Should settle down over next several days.
