I've just been told i have a 7.5 cm cyst on my right ovary. my af was delayed by 43days i've been spotting brown before for 12 days. i just started spotting red with severe cramps that feel like menstruation. am i having my period or has a cyst burst?

A "7.5 cm ovarian cyst" is not the cause of delayed menstruation or prolonged spotting. Delayed ovulation by stress (emotional, job or school related, etc) will also delay true menstruation, allowing breakthrough bleeding via constant estrogen stimulation of the endometrial lining, which can vary in intensity ("spotting vs. severe cramps). Ask your gyn about oral bcp's, to stop ovarian estrogen.
