Hi dr.. currently am 30 weeks pregnant with twins. doctor suggested to use pantop 40 for stomach discomfort. am using it from past 1month and still continuing... is it safe to use this medicine for such a prolonged period in pregnancy?

Your doctor should have discussed any risks of treatment with Pantoprazole during pregnancy when it was first recommended. Nothing is 100% safe in pregnancy but sometimes there is such a severe condition that not treating it is an even greater risk. Please ask your doctor if he might suggest an alternative treatment of your reflux for the remainder of your pregnancy.
