Suggestions.: Yes, at your weight a treadmill or stairclimber will be hard on your knees. I recommend trying biking, (a recumbent bike if possible), an elliptical trainer, or best of all starting in a pool doing water aerobics. The water will support your body be easy on your joints. Try adding weight watchers and you will see the weight melt and you will feel, wonderful. Good luck!

Bicycle!: All your body weight is on hips. Knees, ankles, and feet plus the dropping of legs, whih multiplies the force. Bicycling dissipates most of the weight on your ischial tuberosities, or haunch bones. Much easier on extremities!
