My 16yr old son swallowed glass should i take him to the er1?

You should go to the ER and have him evaluated to be safe. How big were the glass pieces? Were the pieces sharp or smooth? If he swallowed tiny pieces of smooth glass, this would likely pass on its own. But, if this is not the case (pieces are bigger, edges are sharp) or if you don’t know, then go to the ER and have him evaluated. How did he come to swallow glass? Best of luck to both of you!

Agree with Dr. Ferranti: After the acute episode is over, you need to talk to your son as what may have prompted him swallow glass. If he did it intentionally he may need to a psychiatrist for an evaluation. Wish you and your son good health!
