Need more eval: Gastritis means inflammation on the stomach lining. It does not cause anemia- unless if it is not just gastritis but also you have bleeding on the stomach lining or if the gastritis is affecting absorption of certain nutrient like iron for instance. There are many things that can cause anemia besides iron, vit B12 def or bleeding. You definitely should have further evaluation to find the cause.

I have iron anemia and AI gastritis. I vomited blood 6 weeks ago. My GI ordered a CBC which was normal. Could the iron infusion I had 8 months ago skew the CBC results to show no bleeding even if there is? The infusion has helped my CBC and iron #s?
In theory, could blood loss, such as that which occurs during childbirth, be a cause for b12 deficiency? I.e., if a person developed iron anemia due to blood loss, could that eventually lead to chronic low b12 levels? Any connection here?
