Define "clearing" in your definition. People with a normal immune system will "clear" the initial HPV infection to the point they do not spread it. It is a virus from a family of viruses well known for the ability to hibernate in the human system indefinitely. Such issues as cervical cancer may never emerge as a result, or occur years or decades later.

More than 80% of the people are able to clear HPV. You should follow your doctor's advice about getting PAP smears. Wish you good health!
