I have a slightly smaller then a gold ball size mass on lower back, left of spine. it feels pretty hard. does not move, no pain or anything i notice. any idea what it can be and what specific doctor i would see?

Would select a dermatologist. Your mass could be a lipoma, which is indeed benign, and seems this could be done electively, and not emergently, unless the mass suddenly changes dramatically.

I will get swelling at the base of my neck between my shoulders and directly where the spine is. It will swell up to the size of a golf ball, cause a horrible headache and then go away. Ive had an X-ray that said it was clear. Any ideas?
