Ferritin rises after a transfusion - decreases over several weeks, it was ok before the infusion. Arthritis/ hyperthyroidism / liver disease/hemochromatosis can increase ferritin. Transferrin is high when there is iron deficiency anemia. It seems yours is coming down. What was your blood count and red cell indices (MCHC ,MCV ) ,before the transfusion and what is it now? Check for thalassemia.
