A member asked:

If you have fairly regular periods and then start having irregular bleeding with no pain such as 2 periods in 1 month and they be shorter or longer and/or lighter or heavier after you have sex could it be a sign of pregnancy?

Irregular menstrual periods are common. The fluctuations of estrogen and progesterone can be easily affected by stress, weight gain/loss, exercise, lack of sleep, thyroid problems, and uterine issues. If the symptoms persist, talk to your Dr about your irregular periods and what testing can be done to determine the cause. if you are sexually active use contraception. Take a pregnancy test.
