I had a cortisone injection in my hip and had extreme burning in and around the injection site for 6 weeks. now 5 months later i have pins and needles in and around the injection site. why is that happening and is the nerve damaged?

Sequence of events is indeed unusual, and wonder about a localized infection or immune reaction. This is NOT nerve damage and the pins and needles may represent a healing reaction. But the entire issue should be further assessed, as not clear what occurred, and need to clarify if future steroids are contemplated.
