: Best is to obtain a referral to a GI specialist for evaluation of GERD (acid reflux) and treatment to reduce symptoms. Peptic ulcer disease can be discovered by endoscopy, and ulcer disease can cause increased stomach contractions, forcing acid contents more frequently into the esophagus, creating the discomfort.
