Likely you have acquired an irritated throat, but abnormal tissue may have developed, which will need attention. First step, quit smoking, and that may stop the throat irritation. See your doctor for examination and help stopping this highly addictive and dangerous habit. Good luck.

In addition to the other good advice offered you, please search out a smoking cessation support group through your local hospital or begin using the 12 steps from AA. You could also see a clinical psychologist for clinical hypnosis and self-hypnosis training (www.asch.net). You can do it. It is a matter of life, death, disability, or new life. Peace and good health.
