I have a head cold/flu and my heart rate has been over 100 even when im just sitting down. is that because im sick? or could it be something else. im concerned?

This accelerated resting heart rate, most likely simple sinus tachycardia, could be a reaction to temperature elevation or increased metabolism as your body fights the infection. In the absence of chest discomfort or shortness of breath, I doubt it's a serious issue. Rest up. Drink plenty of fluids(no caffeine)Take Tylenol as needed for fever.
