I assume you're not a smoker. I would look for causes such as certain medications like lisinopril, postnasal drip, acid reflux or asthma equivalent especially if it's a nocturnal cough. I would recommend a screening chest X-Ray or, if you're a smoker, a screening low radiation chest CT scan. A pulmonologist consultation may be worthwhile.
