If someone with chronic hep b doesn't need to take medications what is the reason for this and is he still infectious?

Some hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections cause little or no ongoing liver damage, and therefore treatment isn't necessary. However, such persons are infectious. Their sex partners and others at potential risk (e.g. injection drug users who might be tempted to share injection equipment) must be vaccinated. Discuss with the doctor or clinic managing your HBV infection. Good luck.
