Please schedule a visit with your primary physician or, if not possible to do quickly, go to urgent care. A urine culture and sensitivity test will help direct treatment. Be sure to remind your doctor that you are breastfeeding, to help direct treatment compatible with breastfeeding. If the culture is negative, further evaluation of your symptoms will be needed.

You might ask your doctor about medication to "numb up" your urinary tract until antibiotics can clear up your infection. These can be lifesavers. Drink tons of fluid - concentrated urine burns more when you pee. Next period make sure to change tampons/pads very frequently and avoid ones that are scented. Remind doctor you are nursing when prescribing medications, although most are okay.
