A member asked:

Why is it when i speak to gps they all have not heard of finasteride causing breast cancer? even thought its all over the net - case studies and on the leaflet of the medication? im worried for my husband who uses 1.25mg for hair loss?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Any Estrogenic drug or foods can theoretically increase the risk of developing breast cancer. In that regard, Finasteride does cause mild estrogen- like effects such as enlargement of the male breast.... which is more common than breast cancer. Either way it is easy to see and feel the growth of the breast before a Cancer becomes problematic.
