If you have a positive ovulation the egg has been released. If it gets fertilized it would implant and hopefully grow a baby, if it is not fertilized then the egg and the prepared lining of the uterus comes out as your period

Usually, but not always. Please realize that ovulation predictor kits do not test for ovulation. Ovulation predictor kits merely measure the quick rise in LH (luteinizing hormone surge) that precedes ovulation, but cannot confirm whether or not you have actually ovulated. Occasionally, an egg fails to pop out from its follicle after the LH surge has occurred.
