It is difficult to know exactly what you are feeling as there are a lot of structures in the armpit, or axilla. The best thing to do is point it out to your doctor and have your doctor examine you and tell you what you are feeling. Possibilities include bone, muscle, enlarged lymph node so let your doctor examine you and put your mind at ease!! Best of luck to you!!

Agree with Dr. Ferranti. If you are skinny, you may be feeling a rib. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Get HPV and Covid vaccines. Wish you good health!

When we teach medical students how to properly examine the axilla(armpit), we instruct them to place the patient's arm downward by the side of the rib cage and then palpate upwards into the axilla. Otherwise the structures are actually retracted with the arm lifted up. Do it properly&if you still have concerns, consult your physician for evaluation.
