When i get ill. i developed a mild sore throat. by day 2 it feels like sandpaper. by day 3 i feel i lot better. then usually say 4 i get a fever and feel worse & mucus sets in. why do i always feel better before i get worse (ps it's not covid)?

You may have a bacterial illness which results in recurrence due to resistant bacteria or partial treatment. A culture of the mucus and your throat may be ordered by your PCP. Monitor your temperature and a repeat COVID screening test may be obtained at the same time. Soothing fluids will often relieve symptoms.
