I had a neutrophil count within normal range but blood film shows left shift neutrophils? a follow up test again reported neutrophils in range but this time film reported slight neutrophils showing toxic granulation. is this the same thing? thanks?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, both comments are suggestive of a infection.
