A member asked:

My mom was recently told by her gastroenterologist that she has a lesion on her pancreas and that it's cancer. this was based solely on what he saw from a ct scan. a biopsy will be done soon. any chance he could be mistaken??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Wait for the biopsy to settle the issue. Depending on the imaging results there would be a gradation of certainty of diagnosis. It is not helpful to worry about the accuracy of GI's diagnosis as a biopsy is planned. Wish you and your mother good health!
