If he has breathing difficulty, take him to the nearest hospital. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining him. Wish you and your husband good health!

People describe shortness of breath (SOB) differently and it should be evaluated in person It's concerning when you walk a short distance or do short term exercise and you feel SOB you need to see a doctor right away. Some people report SOB as be a pain in breathing, unable to take a full breath, wheezing, or stuffy nose. A cough often is a result of postnasal drip, lung issues, gastric reflux.

Infection, allergies and inflammation are the usuall cause of chronic sinusitis. Blockage of the nose due to inflammation or mucus plug can cause breathing difficulties . It can be relieved by using a humidifier, nasal saline spray , nasal irrigation with netti pot and/or steroidal sprays. It also lets the sinus drain. I hope this helps. See ent doctor for treatment of chronic sinusitis.
