The withdrawal method (where the male pulls out and ejaculates outside of the vagina) is only 80% effective at preventing pregnancy. This means 20% of women (1 in 5) will get pregnant using this method. This is because small amounts of sperm containing fluid are released as soon as the penis is erect and continues during the sexual act. Have her take a pregnancy test and use contraception.
