Hi, i have a discharge that is yellowish on the pantyliner and my vaginal area itches which i think is caused by the discharge and i am 38 weeks pregnant. is it an infection? and what is the cause?

While it is normal to have some degree of discharge vaginally during pregnancy, this could also be an indication of an infection. Especially since you are close to delivery, I would immediately inform your obstetrician so that you can get formally diagnosed.

It appears that you may have bacterial vaginitis. Group B Streptococcus and other may affect the fetus in birth canal so you need to see Ob to figure out if you have infection, and receive prompt treatment . Hope it helps.
