A member asked:

I have taken 2,000mg of tylenol extra strength (so, 4 caplets) in the past 19-ish hours for menstrual cramping, but i want to switch over to pamprin (because the tylenol hardly feels like its working). how can i do this safely and effectively?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pamprin is an over-the-counter medication that includes Tylenol, aspirin and caffeine. If you have been taking Tylenol, 1000 mg per dose, you should wait about 6 hours to begin taking Pamprin. Just realize that the only addition you get by using this medicine would be aspirin and caffeine. Sometimes the combination of Tylenol, aspirin and caffeine can be more effective for menstrual cramping.
