A member asked:

Just found out i have central sleep apnea. i just used an oximeter (while awake) and it says 85. is that too low?

You should try to keep the Oxygen sat. level at least 95. 85 consistently is too low. Your PCP can assist you.

It is important to maintain a higher pulse oximeter level, 24 hrs daily, and this needs to be further evaluated. Contact your physicians and have the entire situation thoroughly controlled. Daytime and nighttime oxygenation may well be required, but answers to the underlying causation should be sought.
