I have had balanitis for a while, and i was wondering whether it is life-threatening?

not really: While I am sure it has your attention it is unlikely to be more than an inconvenience. I would pursue treatment and follow the recommended treatment plan.

Not likely to be life threatening, but definitely needs to be addressed properly. Start with your doc for an exam and work up as needed.

Hardly a serious condition, however, circumcision is recommended for those experiencing recurrent balanitis.

Balanitis is usually associated with tight foreskin which either can not or is difficult to retract, cuircumcision is then long-term treatment of choice. I meantime an antibiotic may be required, especially if lymph nodes in groin are enlarged & tender as well as over the counter antibiotic ointment such as Bacitracin or Neosporin applied to penis. Certainly not life-threatening but very unpleasant
