I was on venlafaxine for nerve pain. 300 mg er /day for 12 wks -- 225 mg for 10 wks -- 150mg for 3 wks -- 75mg er for 4 wks -- 37.5 er for 10 days -- none for 4 days. i gained 15 lbs! i want off. how much longer will dizzies and zaps last??

Each person is different regarding Side effects. The tapering measures seem reasonable from your prescriber. The zaps may signify LACK of covering agent, since the venlaflaxine has been withdrawn. Call you doc to discuss the return of these sensory issues and whether a different agent would be more helpful in controlling them yet have no side effects. Exercise and diet will assist wt loss.
