Do NOT fret: Although I do not know what directions say on your container, would expect the Vitamin D preparation to be soluble and not a suspension, so, shaking likely not necessary. If you did shake, should not affect chemical balance or taste. Doubt you created any problem.

Vid D shake ?: My guess is yes you should shake every liquid medicine. Gravity never sleeps and stuff in liquid form settles to the bottom. You did not say which brand you took. Look on the label. I sure there is a number to call about any problems.
