Is it true that long term corneal erosion occurring due to intial corneal abrasion may have completely normal slit lamp findings on frequent basis. but patient is treated on the basis of painful symptoms from abraded cornea / recurrent erosion?

Ophthalmologist: Please see your eye doctor. Corneal abrasions are easily seen on exam. If there is recurrent injury, there may be a foreign body or other structure causing the problem.
