A member asked:

Good day. im a 28 year old female who was diagnosed with pcos at 22 years old. i havent seen a gynae for this condition since my diagnosis. but now i have pelvic pain on my left side. the pain is sometimes dull but sometimes it hurts. what do i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PCOS/pelvic pain ?'s: With a definitive diagnosis of PCOS, the treatment recommended is low dose oral bcp's, which can preserve fertility as well as reduce formation of ovarian cysts. In the absence of treatment, an ovarian cyst can cause one sided pelvic pain, so see your gyn for an exam and pelvic ultrasound, and ask him/her about low dose oral bcp for the previously stated reasons .
