Lower Gingiva: It's really pretty hard to bite your lower gingiva... teeth are suppose to contact other teeth. If you have a severe overbite, I can imagine it possibly happening, and for that you would need a local orthodontic consultation. If you haven't explained what you're biting correctly and it is a cheek biting habit, you'll have to attempt to break it.

Biting gums: Shouldn't happen. Teeth are supposed to contact teeth, not gums. Sounds as if you have a malocclusion (bad bite), and may need an Orthodontist. Chronic irritation can cause so very nasty problems. There's not much you can do to speed healing, especially if you don't address the cause of the irritation. But there are lots of things your Dentist can do. Please call now to be seen as soon as possible
