A member asked:

I have been looking into a new device to treat heart failure called the barostim neo. why can't it be used to treat diastolic heart failure? also, how can a side effect be an "exacerbation of heart failure" if it's meant to treat it?

BAROSTIM NEO: I would go to uptodate.com and the companies website for the product. It was just approved and may not be much experience with it. I used to use a similar device called Barostat that was used to treated drug resistant HBP. But it did not work well and many patients began to feel a jolt every time it fired. So check with your local team recommending it.
