A member asked:

I got bit really hard by a baby right on my index finger tip, it's healing and it doesn't hurt anymore but the skin that's healing over it is constantly snagging on things and now the skin is coming off, what do i do to stop it from snagging?

Human bite: As a human bite is rife with bacteria, and as you are having healing issues, it would be appropriate to check in with your general physician or urgent care. Important to check to see if you need a tetanus booster. You can tent a bandaid over the healing tissue to protect it, and possibly use an antibiotic cream.

Antibiotic: Try triple antibiotic cream, available over the counter. You could bandage the finger, after applying the antibiotic cream to prevent trauma. If you do not see visible improvement in a day or two, it would be prudent to see your doctor. Wish you good health!
