First hemorrhoid. not sure if internal or external, but i can view it by looking in a mirror and spreading a bit. it was purple two days ago, but i applied witch hazel twice for about 5 minutes each time. now its white. should i be concerned?

External: If you can see it, it is external hemorrhoid. You may watch and wait. You may wish to use an over the counter remedy. Hemorrhoids : Even though it is external, it may be an internal hemorrhoid that has prolapsed to the outside. Best avoid witch hazel and use a hemorrhoidal steroid cream. If no pain or bleeding it should resolve on its own. Most common causes are diarrhea or constipation so both to be avoided. If not gone in a week see a colorectal surgeon.
