I bumped my big toe hard into a filing cabinet by accident 3 days ago and had extreme pain right then, however the pain is still consistent and i do not want to put any weight on that foot at all what is the likely cause and anything concerning?

May be broken: Purplish discoloration at the base of the toe or in the joint would suggest a crack/break in one of the toe bones. General treatment if so would involve specialized footware/not a cast. If/when it bothers you enough to interfere with work.activities have it evaluated.
