Sinusitis: Facial pain/throat pain can be indications of sinusitis (inflammation of sinuses). Most people find relief when they do saline nasal washes every day or twice a day for a week. The wash clears additional mucus and sooths inflamed nasal/sinus passages allowing the inflammation to decrease. Acetaminophen can also be useful in relieving the pain and inflammation. Psuedoephedrine can relieve pressure.

Fluticasone: In addition to Dr Kratzberg’s advice, you may want to try fluticasone nasal spray. Please see your doctor if these treatments don’t help.
