I have a very painful lump on the inner part of my lower buttocks. it seems swollen, and is very painful but doesnt seem to have a head like a pimple or blackhead would. im in a lot of pain and unable to go to a doctor.im wonderingwhat could help?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Painful lump: This may be an early boil (abscess} or infected cyst. Apply hot(not boiling) water compresses. If increasing pain, worsening swelling and/or spreading redness, you'll have to be examined & treated by a physician. If pus drains, wash surrounding skin with rubbing alcohol to kill staph bacteria. Cover infection with sterile gauze. Use paper tape on skin. Change gauze regularly. See MD as needed.
