Depends: Do you still have the pain? What did dr do to see something? You may have had a kidney stone that passed. There really is not much organ wise other than the kidney on that side. You do not describe where on the left side the pain was. If you are ok now the wait is probably ok

No: Follow the er doctor's advice and avoid the worry. You have postponed seeing your physician 5 mons now and have worried yourself to the point that you are asking questions to relieve your mind. Go see your doctor!
