A member asked:

After experiencing asthmatic symptoms i was diagnosed with lung hyperinflation. could this cause moderate, persistent lower stomach pain? bloating? constipation? pain doesnt respond to otc medication or home remedies, which is unusual for me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Some basics: Hyperinflation is a description not a diagnosis. It is seen on chest x-ray of an asthmatic whose lungs have trapped some air during a symptomatic period. It self resolves as symptoms improve. It has little to do with the cited symptoms. They are more likely diet or digestive system issues. Please discuss this with your doc & start a food diary so you can identify what aggrivates the symptoms.
