Viral infection : Most sinusitis is caused by a viral, not a bacterial, infection. Antibiotics don’t really help. Often this viral infection will cause temporary “brain fog”. If it continues see your doctor.

Yes, can happen: All medications have potential side effects, and general malaise, drowsiness, and difficulty focusing and concentrating are not unusual, BUT these are reversible once medication ceases. An infection of any kind can cause systemic issues, and this too ends when infection reverses. Do let your doctors know of your concerns today.
