My husband thought he cracked a rib a couple of weeks ago, but says the pain is depeer now, especially when pressing in and letting go quickly, just below his left ribs in his abdomen, he gets a sharp stabbing pain. what could it be?

Rib pain : He needs to be evaluated by a doctor in person . A rib can displace and irritate internal organs- but that is not common

Rib injury: Cracked or even bruised rib may take weeks to heal. If there was also trauma to the abdomen and he's experiencing left upper abdominal pain and tenderness, it could be an injured muscle or spleen. In view of these symptoms, I recommend an examination by a physician. An X-Ray of the left lower ribs may be advised.
