A member asked:

Could a baby have stopped breathing from suffocation but begin to breathe again on their own? i usually keep son in crib but had him on my chest last night with a pillow propping my arm, woke up realized it was a bad idea, he seems normal later on?

Observe: Always place the baby on his back for sleep time. Avoid excess pillows and bedding. If your son is fine now, observe for any changes in feeding, behavior or breathing difficulty. If he did not have any abnormal sounds, vomiting or changes in behavior, he is most likely fine.
