See a physician: Most diarrhea is caused by a “stomach virus” and goes away in 2-4 days. Lasting 3+ weeks suggest maybe something more serious such as a bacterial (salmonella. Shigella) or protozoal (Giardia) infection. May be a condition in your bowel such as irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease. Definitely needs evaluation by your primary care doc or gastroenterologist

Contaminated water: Problem consuming water from unknown source, common in places where sanitation is sub-standard. Has anyone else who drank same water have symptoms? Your problem most commonly due certain strains of E. coli bacteria, but could be something serious like salmonalla dysentery, parasitic giardiasis or god forbid, cholera. So please get your stool checked.

Agree with Dr. L&K: Diarrhea lasting a month warrants an investigation. If you have lost weight, it is imperative that you see a GI specialist at your earliest. Wish you good health!
